Rail-Sea Intermodal Freight on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Grows 68.2% in Q1
In the first quarter of 2025, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor saw a sharp rise in rail-sea intermodal freight, reaching 345,200 TEUs, a YoY increase of 68.2%. The growth rate also rose by 9.8 percentage points compared to the first two months of this year, showing continued acceleration. By March 21, the corridor had already transported over 300,000 TEUs, 51 days earlier than the same milestone last year.
Leveraging the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, goods from ASEAN countries, like Cambodian rice and Thai fragrant coconuts, are arriving steadily in China, enriching local dining tables. Meanwhile, distinctive Chinese products are being exported abroad. Automobiles made in western China are reaching the Middle East via a combined "railway JSQ cars (specialized rail freight for vehicles) + sea ro-ro ships" model, providing a safe, efficient and cost-effective logistics solution for China's booming car exports.
