On March 28, the "Dahezhinan" specialty tourist train, operated by CR-Zhengzhou, officially rolled off the production line. Based on normal-speed trains, it has undergone extensive customization with enhanced comfort and senior-friendly modifications.

The train features a redesigned layout with hotel-style accommodations. Each carriage is divided into six private compartments, offering two-person, three-person and four-person room options. "Each compartment is equipped with a private bathroom featuring a dry-wet separation design, a temperature-controlled toilet, and an emergency call system," a CR-Zhengzhou official explained.

The multi-functional carriage includes an eight-person tea lounge, a game room and an entertainment room, providing karaoke, chess and other recreational activities. To ensure passenger well-being, most senior tourism trains are staffed with onboard medical personnel, offering services such as blood pressure monitoring and wound care. Emergency plans are also in place for potential health issues among elderly travelers.

The travel routes for senior-friendly tourist trains are diverse. Passengers can explore the natural beauty of Guilin in Guangxi, Zhangjiajie in Hunan and Huangshan in Anhui, or experience the rich historical heritage of Xi'an in Shaanxi, Luoyang in Henan and Datong in Shanxi. Additionally, themed journeys such as grassland expeditions and scenic Xinjiang tours are available.

By 2027, CR plans to design and introduce over 100 senior tourism train routes, equip 160 train sets with senior-friendly features, and expand the operation scale to more than 2,500 train departures annually.
